James “Butch” Tucker, a loving husband, father and son passed away Monday, July 22, 2019 in Denison, Texas at the age of 72. James was born to O.L Tucker and Velmarie (Nelson) Tucker on October 27, 1946, in Durant, Okla.
James has been married to the love of his life for 52 years, Clydene DeLong. They married in Graham, Texas on July 30, 1966.
James “Butch” was a loving man who deeply cared for his whole family. He taught his children and wife how to love and how to be loved. Family was the most important thing in James’ life. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, great grandkids, and camping. James was an avid trotline fisherman on Lake Texoma, an interest he shared with his family and friends; through which he held many fish fry’s.
James worked in the oil field for 33 years all over West Texas. James never met a stranger; he loved to meet new people and talk to anyone he could. James and Clydene were the gate attendants at Lakeside Corp. of Engineers Park for the last 6 years.
James was proud a cancer survivor. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He was a man of his word, and his word was his bond. James set the standard high in his families’ eyes because of the great man he was.
James “Butch” Tucker is survived by his wife Clydene Tucker of the home; mother, Velmarie Tucker of the home; daughters: Lisa Bruns and husband Victor of Tye, Texas, Melinda Feinsod and husband Virgil of Athens, Texas, and Jamie Tucker of the home; granddaughters: Kendra Bloom and husband Bryan of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ashleigh Brazelton and husband Brad of Trent, Texas, and Hannah Feinsod of Abilene, Texas; the only grandson, Eli Feinsod of Athens, Texas; great-granddaughters: Adalyn Bloom, Brynleigh Brazelton, and Raeleigh Brazelton; brothers: Johnny Tucker and wife Sandy of Mead, Okla., O.L. Tucker Jr. and wife Shirley of Lefors, Texas; sister, Linda Allen of Mead, Okla,; brothers-in-law: Allen DeLong of Graham, Texas and Morris DeLong of Mineral Wells, Texas.; sister-in-law, Marilyn Bartee and husband Garry of Dublin, Texas, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for James “Butch” Tucker will be Thursday, July 24, 2019 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Durant, Okla., at 1 p.m. Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with Tommy Rowland and Virgil Feinsod officiating. Internment will be at Mead Cemetery with Allen DeLong, Garry Bartee, James Allen, Brad Brazelton, Mark Tucker, Dudley Rowland and Michael Hogan serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers: Eli Feinsod and Bryan Bloom.
Services are under the direction of Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant.
