Jackie Wayne Lindley, Sr., fondly known as J. W., a beloved husband, father, uncle, and resident of Durant, Okla., left his earthly body on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, in the comfort of his home at the age of 83. He was born the son of Burnie Floyd, Sr. and Ola Mae (Carter) on Aug. 15, 1938, in Silo, Okla.
He married his loving wife, Wanda Jean, on Sept. 23, 1960, in Durant, Okla..
Jackie owned and operated J.W. Lindley Construction for 53 years with his sons, Jackie Jr. and Tracie. Jackie earned his bachelor’s degrees in math and chemistry from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had many hobbies that included woodworking, metal art and taxidermy. He was active in his kids’ lives through coaching in numerous sports. In his later years, he enjoyed his time at home watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow into his pride and joy.
Mr. Lindley is survived by daughters, Terrie Johnson and husband Mike, and Tamra Lindley; son, Tracie Lindley; sister-in-law, Marilyn Lindley; daughter-in-law, Tanya Lindley; grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney and Kaylee Johnson, Devin Lindley and wife Chelsea, Hunter Lindley and wife Kayleigh; great-grandchildren: Emrie Lue, Abrie Mae, Ivory Rose and on the way baby Lindley.
He is preceded in death by wife, Wanda Jean Lindley; son, Jackie Wayne Lindley, Jr.; parents, Burnie Floyd SR and Ola Mae Lindley; brother, Burnie Floyd Jr Lindley.
Graveside Services will be noon on Saturday, Aug. 21 at Highland Cemetery with Pastor Terry Brown officiating, and his family as the pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Ridgway, Danny Shephard, Roy Badger, Ted Sampson, Sid Lewis.
