Iva Andrews

A precious soul, Iva Andrews, left this life and joined her beloved Savior Jesus Christ on December 17, 2021, at the age of 95. She was the daughter of Clarence Lee and Alice (Williams) Lee born in Bennington, Okla. on December 13, 1926.

Iva Lee married Floyd Andrews on September 29, 1945, and relished her life as a wife and mother gladly dedicating herself to making a happy home for her family. She was adored by her grandkids, and she adored each one of them. She was a talented seamstress and a great cook.

Iva was an active member of First Baptist Church in Durant, Okla. She loved her Sunday School class and looked forward to the monthly parties. She also met with 12 other ladies every month to play Bunco.

She was of a generation that grew up in the depression and learned to have gratitude for all she was blessed with. She spent many busy years working alongside her husband Floyd as a secretary of A1 Air Conditioning and co-owner of Big A Quick Stop. She spent many hours in the hayfield and on the family farm. It was a common sight to see her out mowing the lawn.

Iva was known for her sweet nature and her laugh. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Andrews is survived by her children: Brenda Hess of Aubrey, Texas, Sammy and wife Tena Andrews of Bennington, Okla., Rodney Andrews of Calera, Okla., Kim Andrews of Denison, Texas and Jeff Andrews and wife Jackie of Lucas, Texas; grandchildren: Chrissy Goucher and husband Cody, Brandon Scasso and fiance Sarah, Keelie Fisher and husband Kip, Lacey Jackson, Ashley Calandra and husband Joey, Tyler Lee Perck and husband Dereck Perck, Jack Andrews and wife Esmeralda, and Alexander Andrews; great-grandchildren: Claire Goucher, Molly Goucher, Lennon Perck, McKayla McCann, Emily Fisher, Austin Calandra, and Jordan Calandra, Iva is also survived by her great-great-grandson, Boston Viator.

Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Alice Lee; husband, Floyd Andrews; three brothers and three sisters.

Family hour will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.

A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Durant with Bro. James Robinson officiating. Iva’s final earthly resting place will be the Jackson Cemetery in Bennington, Okla. Serving as pallbearers will be Kip Fisher, Brandon Scasso, Chase Andrews, Todd Andrews, Chad Andrews, and Jack Andrews. The honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday School Class.
