Indira married Oscar Lewis Doherty in 1982 and they were blessed with 24 years of marriage until Oscar’s passing in 2006. Indira moved to Durant in 2013 from Missouri. She was a loving homemaker to husband and children. She was a member of Robinson Road Baptist Church and she enjoyed knitting, lace making, beading and spinning yarn. Indira dearly loved her Lord and Saviour, her family and friends.
Indira was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Lewis Doherty; son, David Lowel Doherty and parents, Joseph and Faye Boatman.
Loved ones left behind to cherish her memory are son, Joseph Charles Doherty; sisters, Sharron Faye Wooldridge and Rhonda Lynnnette Fogle and numerous extended family and friends.
