Hester Maxine Teeples

Maxine Teeples, beloved Mother and Nanny, went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2021. She was with her son, Steve and dedicated caregivers, Ramona Zamora and Nurse Dana as she passed from this life to eternal life.

Maxine was born on Sept. 5, 1924, in Pierce City, Mo. to mother, Ruby A. Kelly and father, Walter “Ted” Kelly. She married Steve C. Teeples in Yakima, Wash. on June 17, 1952.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Peggy Judd, Mickey Evans, Wanda Fullerton; brother, Hank Kelly; son-in-law, Scotty Hazlewood and beloved Yorkie, Taz.

She is survived by her children, Steve K. Teeples, Vicki Palmore and husband, Joe, Michael Teeples and wife, Debara, Linda Jacobs and husband, Andy, Sharon Hazlewood, Kathy Grove and husband, Benny; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and favorite cousin, Mary Lou Staley.

During her long and blessed life, Maxine was a very talented seamstress. She created wedding dresses, prom dresses, pageant dresses and frilly dresses for little girls. She handmade wedding dresses for her daughters and many of her granddaughters. She created basketball uniforms and traveling attire for the Colbert Leopards. She retired from Diaper Jeans where she was a supervisor for many years.

Maxine told everyone she had the best kids any mom could have. She spent her golden years attending her grandchildren’s events and spending lots of time with her family. Maxine perfected the art of being the best Nanny she could be. She made amazing blueberry pancakes and the best fried chicken in Oklahoma. She loved all kinds of sports, even golf, and she loved watching the Game Show Network. She was loved beyond imagination by her children and grandchildren who take comfort in the knowledge that there is a great reunion happening in Heaven.

The family would like to acknowledge and are very grateful to Victory Hospice and Maxine’s dedicated caregivers, Tina, Teresa, Dana, Ramona and Sissy. They loved her and always gave her the very best care.

Services will be under the direction of Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Family night will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, from 5-7 p.m.

The funeral service will be held in the chapel at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, at 10:00am. Interment will be at Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn, Okla. directly following the service.
