Henry David Macomber was born Tuesday, May 9, 1961 in Kansas City, Mo., to Charles Macomber and Sandra Ann (Offit) Macomber. He passed from this life on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022 at his Durant home at the age of 60.
Henry grew up and attended schools in Silo, graduating in 1980. Henry spent 17 years in Kansas City after high school and was very involved in car clubs. He worked as a truck driver for Dolese Concrete seven years and Rustin Concrete the last three years before his health declined. Henry was married to Melody (Fine) Phelps.
Henry was an avid fisherman, enjoyed cars, camping and was good at woodworking. He attended Victory Life Church and is a member of Mead Baptist Church.
Henry was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Macomber; son, David Charles Macomber; step-son, Jacob Phelps; brother, Michael Allen Macomber; and nieces, Kellie and Kari.
He is survived by his wife, Melody, of the home; daughter, Brandy Mendez and her husband, Sotero Sanchez of Bells, Texas; sister, Georganna Martin of Madill, Okla.; grandkids, Tyler Mendez, Jayden Mendez, Mayson Mendez and Karson Phelps.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, at Brown’s Funeral Home Chapel.
