Helen M. (Parton) Wells, 84, entered the arms of her Lord and Savior on Feb. 4, 2021. Helen was born to William and Olva Parton on January 18, 1937 in Achille, Okla., where she attended and graduated Achille Public Schools.
Helen was wed to Johnnie N. Wells on Nov. 12, 1954 and they had four children. Helen descended from a line of ladies known for their quilting, crocheting, embroidering and other specialty sewing and craft making and she greatly enjoyed displaying her creations and designs at the local county fair. She also enjoyed traveling and listening to Dalheart, the band. Helen’s husband and children were the center of her universe and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Helen was a member of the Coleman Avenue Church of Christ in Colbert, Okla.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband Johnnie N. Wells, son Johnnie E. (Eddie) Wells and granddaughter Terrie Wells.
Helen is survived by her daughters: Connie Hollis of Sherman, Texas, Debbie Locey of Achille and Cindie Owen of Durant; her sister and best friend, Wanda Weger, of Colbert; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service was held on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021.
