Helen Marie (James) Hicks of Durant, Okla. passed away on June 23, 2022. She was born on June 7, 1947, to Edgar Lee James and Donna Lavern (Gibson) James in Gilmer, Texas. She married Doyle Hicks in Reno, Nevada.
Helen worked in the food service industry before retiring. She enjoyed fishing as a pastime and loved her family.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Joseph James and his wife Cindi of Durant, Okla.; her granddaughter, Kinsley James of Durant, Okla.; nephews, Keith Phillips and his wife Emily of Oklahoma City, Okla., Chad Phillips of Boswell, Okla., and Heather Phillips of Boswell, Okla., John James and his wife Lindsey of Bixby, Okla., niece, Cindy Proctor and her husband Jeff of Armstrong, Okla. and sister Joy Phillips of Durant, Okla. Helen is also survived by great-nephews Jaren Proctor, Eli Phillips, Kaden James, Koby James, and Kai James, as well as great-nieces Alexis Phillips, Jenna Proctor, Baylee Phillips, and Kori James.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Lee James and Donna Lavern (Gibson) James; husband Doyle Hicks; brother, Manny James and grandson, Toby James.
