Hayes Hammonds of Caddo, Okla. passed from this life on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the age of 83. He was born on Monday, April 6, 1936 in Memphis, Texas to Othar and Callie Pearl (Hayes) Hammonds.
He married Carmalla Frances (Houser) on December 26, 1967 in Durant, Okla.
Hayes came to Caddo, Okla. in 1952 from Memphis, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, especially football.
He was preceded in death by his parents Oak and Pearl Hammonds; sisters Mary Bridges and husband Bob, Charels Gerlock and husband Jimmy, Jesse Dixon and husband Buck
He is survived by his wife Frances Hammonds of Caddo, Okla.; sons: Chris Houser of Colorado Springs, Colo., Tommy Hammonds of Durant, Okla.; daughters: Tena Hammonds of Columbia, S.C., Tracie Hammonds of Maple Valley, Wash.; sisters: Jimmie Kelly and husband Gene of Melissa, Texas, Jean Stinnett of Mead, Okla., Nancy Wolfgang of Mesquite, Texas, Margie DePriest and husband Gordon of Bowie, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Monterey Chapel, 224 S. Ninth Ave. in Durant, Oklahoma. A family hour will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Gordon Funeral Home.
Bro. Clifford Joines will be officiating.
