Hank Anderson, a resident of Bennington, Okla., veteran of the United States Air Force, and devoted servant of his Lord Jesus Christ, joined his Savior on Aug. 17, 2021, at the age of 86. He was born in Aquilla, Texas, on January 14, 1935, to Henderson I. Anderson and Lovella (Ivey) Anderson.
Hank married his beloved Sherron “Kay” Brackett in Bokchito, Okla. on August 20, they were married for 55 years.
Hank was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had a respected work ethic and always had three jobs: preacher, teacher, and cattle rancher. He was a talented writer of country music, he even traveled to Nashville. One of his fondest memories was playing his country music at the Blue Bird Café in Nashville. He grew up during challenging times, but his tender heart was open to sharing God’s Word with others.
Hank spent a large part of his life as a teacher and coaching track, basketball, and softball, and taught 5th grade math and science at Benjamin Franklin in Hugo, Okla. He loved his family and considered them his greatest earthly blessing.
A funeral service in honor of his life will be on Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Boswell Church of Christ with John Carrol and Jason Stillwell assisting. His final earthly resting place will be the Restland Cemetery in Boswell with Jim Wood, Jason Stillwell, Randy Cliffton, Ron DaVee, Aaron Ragle, and David Anderson as his pallbearers. The honorary pallbearer will be Wayne Callwell.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Sherron “Kay” Anderson of Midland, Texas, and Bennington, Okla.: sons, John D. Anderson and wife Sue of Midland, Texa, and James S. Anderson of Durant, Okla.: grandchildren, Sarah E. Ragle and husband Aaron of Midland, Texas; great-grandchild, Rose E. Ragle, and David A. Anderson and wife Lauren of Lubbock, Texas; niece, Susan Schuler and husband Calvin of Wylie, Texas, and nephews, Steven Howard and wife Marsha of Red Oak, Texas, and Kevin Howard of Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents.
