Grover Jaggers

Grover Jaggers of Durant passed from this life on July 29, 2021, to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born in Arpelar, Okla., near McAlester, the son of William and Beatrice Pounds Jaggers on Nov. 20, 1933. He was a devoted and loving husband and an inspiration to those close to him.

He was a member of University Freewill Baptist church and was a person deeply devoted to our Lord. He prayed daily for all family members, friends and relatives, as well as asking Jesus to reduce evil in our world and to bring peace and comfort to all. He was 87 years old.

Grover was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors. He was especially fond of birds which he fed daily as well as a flock of Ravens whom he fed table scraps each day.. Birds were like a special friend to him. He spent many hours watching the feeding birds from his dining room window.

Grover is survived by his loving wife, Marylu; one sister, Ethel (Henry) Mott of Sidney, N.Y.; one brother, Jim of Zephyrhills, Fla.; one grand-daughter, Coleen (Brian) Clothier of Tishomingo, Okla.

Grover was preceded in death by three sisters: Lula Lowrance, Myrtle Mitchell, and Stella Crupper and one brother Wayne.

Grover will be sadly missed by all who touched his life. It is comforting to note that all who are devoted to our Lord will someday rejoice with him in Heaven.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5 at University Freewill Baptist Church in Durant with Rev. Bret Doyle and Rev. Bob Dewoody officiating.

Burial will be in Coleman cemetery in Coleman, Okla. with James Patterson, Hank Patterson, Mark Patterson, Wesley Schreier, Randy Schreier, Dale Dewoody, and Zack Dewoody as the pallbearers. The Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Tignor II, and Bill Schreier.
