Gordon Alexander Morris passed from this life on Monday, October 31, 2022 at the age of 76. He was born July 30, 1946 in Asheville, N.C. and was raised in the North Fork community of Black Mountain, N.C.
He joined the Marine Corps in 1964, then switched to the Navy Seabees in 1972. He retired from the Navy after 21 years of military service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Morris; sister, Janet Cordel; father, Thomas Blaine Morris and mother, Grace Evelyn (Rowland) Morris.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Janelda Morris; daughters, Christina Beebe and husband Danny, Cathleen Merrell; grandchildren: Brandi McLeland and husband Brad, Joseph Beebe, Racheal Holmes and husband James, Brianna Johnson and husband Patrick, Stephen Morris and longtime girlfriend Deja; great-grandchildren: Kaytlin McLeland, Holden McLeland, Marley Holmes and soon to be born Thomas Holmes; sister, Gail Shook; brother, Phillip Morris and wife Kim as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Cremation services has been selected.
