Glenna Foreman

Glenna Faye Foreman, of Durant, Okla., passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024, at the age of 87 in Hugo, Okla. She was born on June 19, 1937, in Bennington, Okla., to Walter Jesse and Willa May (Thompson) Baber.

Glenna’s life journey was one marked by a thirst for knowledge and a love for her roots. She earned a bachelor’s degree and pursued a career as a corporate secretary in Dallas, Texas. She had a passion for history and genealogy which led her to author two books on the subject, contributing valuable knowledge to her family and the community.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Glenna had varied interests. She enjoyed farming, finding pleasure in the beauty of the land. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society, where her vibrant spirit truly shown.

Glenna is survived by her brothers Jesse Baber and his wife Mary Lillis, and Walter Baber, both of Durant, Okla. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, including, Kay Pais, Beverley Babington and husband Jeff, Dwyne Baber, Jr., Betty Kinsey, Karen Armstrong, Sharon Bankhead and husband Phillip, Gil Baber and wife Amy, Bryan Martz, Mark Martz, and Karla Martz.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Willa Baber, her beloved husband Phillip Foreman, her brother Dwyne Forrest Baber Sr., her sister Verna Martz, sister-in-law Mary Katherine Baber, and nephews Jackie Dean Baber and William Jesse Baber.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Restland Cemetery in Boswell, Okla., with Brother Michael Moody officiating.

Services are under the direction of Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, 121 N. Fifth Ave. in Durant.
