Garey Martin, of Bennington, Okla., passed from this life on Monday, July 8, 2019 at the age of 73. He was born on Wednesday, May 15, 1946 in Wichita, Kan. to Edward Lyter and Margaret Louise (Bain) Martin.
He was a farmer, rancher, well driller, Sumner County Commissioner, 32 degree Mason and Deputy Sherriff in Sumner County in Kansas. He was on the Bennington School Board and had been the President of the water well drillers association. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was married to Bobbie Jo (Barton) Nov. 30, 1974 in Witchita, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Chaney.
Survivors include his wife Bobbie of the home; daughters Tina J. Hazen of Mulvane, Kansas, Tammy Renee Smith and husband Joe of Mulvane, Kansas; son Jerry M. Hazen, Jr. of Durant, Oklahoma; grandsons Justice Hazen and Lyter Hazen of the home, Cody, Cutter, Corey, Canon; granddaughters Rikki, Tara and Keeper as well as numerous great grandchildren and other extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Family Worship Center in Bokchito, Oklahoma with Bro. Cecil Adams officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
