DURANT – One of Durant’s longest continuously running businesses recognized another milestone this week.

First Texoma National Bank hosted a ribbon cutting this week to celebrate the renovations to the Northwest Heights branch on University Boulevard.

“Several years ago, Arthur Alexander had the build a branch out here,” CEO Art Stauffer said. “The only thing that was out here was this and Northwest Heights school.

“Branching has kind of gone away from modern day banking. Technology has kind of taken over. However, this branch is one of the cornerstones of our organization and we are so proud this facility. Shane Knight and Theorem’s architectural work stands out for itself.”

Phoebe Kautt is the branch manager there and the youngest person to hold that position in the history of the company.

“We are excited to have the new look,” Kautt said. “There is a little better functionality and more room.

“We’ve been in the Texoma area and Durant since 1898 and we’re excited to stick around. We’re going to continue to be the friendly neighborhood bank that everybody can count on.”

The branch is one of five FTNB locations and can be visited at 1825 W. University in Durant.
