Katie Faye (Porter) Richardson, a beloved mother and grandmother, and resident of Calera, Okla., left this life on April 20, 2021 at the age of 98. She was born in Waurika, Okla., on Independence Day July 4, 1922 to Lafayette Walter Porter and Mozella Jane (Driggers) Porter.
Faye married her beloved John (Jake) D. Richardson in Waurika, Okla., on August 16, 1940.
Faye was a member of the Calera First Baptist Church where she gladly served as a Sunday School Teacher, and she was a bookkeeper (retired) by trade. She loved creating things by hand and patience such as quilting, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. Faye loved being outside in the sunshine gardening or reading a good book.
Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jake) Richardson; son, Jerry and wife JoAnn; son, Roy and wife Jean and grandson, Steve; her parents and siblings.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by her cherished children: Janet Hart and husband Darrell of Calera, Okla., Keith Richardson and wife Amy of Durant, Okla.; grandchildren, Jimmy Hart and wife Lori of Marlon, Okla., Randy Hart of Marlon, Okla., Matt Hart and wife Mandy of Calera, Okla., Rhett Richardson of Denison, Texas, Whitney Shumaker and husband Cane of Celina, Texas, Kelly Richardson and wife Lisa of Alvarado, Texas, James Richardson of Fort Worth, Texas, step-grandson, Ryan Harrelson of Durant, Okla., Brenda Huskey of Burleson, Texas, Becky Gober, and Barbara Routledge and husband David of Calera, Okla.; great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family hour will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Durant Church of Christ in Durant on Thursday April 22, 2021. A celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday April 22, 2021 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Okla., with Bro. Travis Huffman and Bro. Jacob Toews officiating.
Her final resting place will be the Rosehill Cemetery in Calera with grandsons: Jimmy Hart, Randy Hart, Kelly Richardson, Matt Hart, Rhett Richardson, and Cane Shumaker as her pallbearers. The service will be available to view live on the funeral home Facebook page.
