Fannie Billy

Fannie Luella (Cameron) Billy was born on March 15, 1939, in Barber, Okla., to Andrew and Emma (Pack) Cameron. Fannie entered the Gates of Heaven with her Lord and Savior on October 3, 2023, in Durant, Okla., at the age of 84. Fannie graduated from Sequoyah Indian School where she met Eugene Edmond Billy. They married shortly after high school and spent their lives together raising their family in California.

Fannie worked for the U.S. Government for 20 years until her retirement. After her health declined, she moved to Durant, Oklahoma to be cared for by her daughter Mary. She was a member of the Cherokee Nation and was of the Christian faith. In her free time, she enjoyed being a choir leader and singing. She dedicated her life to her Lord and Savior, her church, and her beloved family.

Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Edmond Billy; daughter, Kathy Billy; parents, Andrew and Emma Cameron and brothers: Dave, Bill, George, Willie, and Eddie Cameron.

Fannie is survived by her children, Mary Morrone and husband Ken, Joey Billy, and Paulette Billy; sister, Ann Johnson; grandchildren: Israel Bolivir, Paul Billy, Eric Billy, Randy Billy, Craig Billy, Sarah Billy, Rebecca Billy, Lorraine Billy, Michael Morrone, Joseph Morrone, Andrew Morrone, and Vanessa Morrone; numerous great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Barber Cemetery in Cherokee County, Okla. Minister Adam Thirsty will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral Service and Crematory.
