Emma Faye Bully

Emma Faye Bully was born on May 12, 1956 and was called Home on June 16, 2021. Born to Boswell “Buster” Bully and Alice (Brokeshoulder) Bully in Bennington, Okla. 

Emma was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma whose first language was Choctaw. A member of the First Baptist Church in Wade, Okla., she graduated from Bennington High School in 1975 and later joined the National Guard where she was honorably discharged. She attended Murray State College and graduated from business school in Denison, Texas.

An avid animal lover, Emma had a soft spot for neighborhood strays and adopted many over the years. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and celebrating life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Coleman Bully, Paul Bully, and Bill Bully; and sisters: Rachel Mays, Margie Brown, and Mary Floyd.

She is survived by her sisters: Marie Haag, Patricia Bully, and Donna Bully, all of Durant, Okla., and a brother, Roy Bully of Gainesville, Texas. Emma was the proud aunt of 13 nieces and nephews, 17 great-nieces and nephews, and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Jesse Pacheco will officiate. Interment will follow in Sulphur Springs Church Cemetery with Tony MIncher, Randy Thomas, Michael Lemmons, Jimmy Mincher, Marquis Tillis and Roy Bully serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
