Ellita (Aletia/Allah) Faye Nuttall Morris, known affectionately by all as Pikey, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023, in Tushka, Oklahoma at the age of 78. Born on June 2, 1945, in Caney, Oklahoma, Ellita’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her generous spirit.
Ellita’s interests were as diverse and vibrant as her personality. She was an exceptional cook and baker, known far and wide for her Cheese Dip, Fried Chicken, Fry Bread, Milky Way & Mississippi Mud cakes. Her green thumb was evident in the lush array of potted plants that transformed her home into a verdant oasis. Her love for crochet, gardening, reading, ceramics, and arts and crafts was only surpassed by her love for her family.
Ellita’s dedication to her children was unwavering. She was their biggest fan at basketball games and their confidant in all of life’s moments. She worked tirelessly to create a stable and loving home, and her children have a treasure trove of memories filled with her loving, fun, and sometimes outrageous personality.
A long-time resident of Tushka, Oklahoma, Ellita’s commitment to her community was evident through her involvement in Choctaw events and her volunteer work at the Atoka Community Center, where she cooked for the elders. This dedication led to a job offer at the Choctaw Bingo in Durant in 1987, where she began as a cook and worked her way up to making Bingo packets. Ellita’s influence extended beyond her family, as she became an incredible role model to many.
A devout Christian, Ellita read her Bible daily and ensured her children knew about Jesus. Her faith-filled life was a beacon of hope and comfort to those around her. She had a heart of gold, and her home was always open to anyone in need. Her smile could brighten any room, and her laugh was indeed intoxicating.
Ellita Faye Morris was the epitome of loving and generous, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Yet, her legacy of love, generosity, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Ellita’s life was a beautiful reflection of her beliefs, and she will be remembered as someone who welcomed and accepted everyone with open arms into her home and heart. Her spirit will forever be cherished, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Lee Nuttall, Sr., and Lena Mae (Hopkins) Hampton; her sisters Lula Bauer and Hazel Smith; her brothers William Nuttall, Sr., and Lonnie Nuttall; and her granddaughter Lauren Morris.
She is survived by her daughters, Ginger Romines and husband Glen of Durant, Oklahoma, and Wanda Morris (Booger) and husband Scott Welch of Bloomburg, Texas; her son, Jerrel Morris (Spook) and his best friend, Barbie Farrell of Atoka, Oklahoma; and her cherished grandchildren, Rachel(RayRay), Isaac, Charles, Clarence, Wilda, Buford, Trevor, Savannah, Toni, Mia, Sunny, and Rebel, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Her legacy continues through her adored great-grandchildren, Leon, Waylon, Staly, Kadiane, Laxtan, Benclee, Jayla, Grayler, Jordanna, Kadence, Kensley, Elly, Ashyr, Nakira, Gabriel, Gunther, Presley, RaeRae, Niklaus, Kayli, and Ledger. Ellita’s siblings, Trecia Alford, Claude Lee Nuttall, Jr. and wife Rikki, Shelly Eldridge, and Danny Hampton, will hold her memory dear, as will her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched.
The family will have a time of visitation and remembrance after the New Year. The date and time will be announced.
