DURANT – Thousands of prize-filled plastic eggs will be hidden by the Easter Bunny at the Choctaw Cultural Center’s annual Eggstravaganza. The public is invited to the day of fun from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5.
Visitors may join the Tvpushik Toss (Egg Basket Toss) from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and the Find the Chukfi game starting at 10 a.m. and running all day.
From 10 a.m. – noon, a 360-degree photo booth will provide a unique experience of being photographed with the Easter Bunny. The images will be sent for free to parents the same day by email, text, or QR code.
Two Easter Egg Hunts are planned this year. The first will be from 11 a.m.-11:15 a.m. and the second will be, 1:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. Both will take place at the Living Village and Dance Grounds. Children will be placed into two age groups for the hunts, toddler to age 6 and age 7 and above. Children need to bring their own Easter baskets.
The traditional Choctaw children’s story “Why Rabbit Has a Short Tail” will be presented at 11:30 a.m. in the Luksi Activity Center.
Arts and crafts activities will include Family Workshops for Easter Baskets and Easter Ornament Decorating.
Regular ticket prices apply, including complimentary admission for Choctaw tribal members and cultural center members. Admission price covers all of the day’s special activities.
