Edwin “Little” Esaw Ned passed away on February 2, 2021 in Durant, Okla. at the age of 85. He was born on February 20, 1935 to Thomas and Lucille (Pershica) Ned in Enville, Okla.
Little was a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation and was a Veteran of the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed playing dominoes and horseshoes, and even played basketball and baseball while he was in high school.
Little is survived by his wife, Marion Ned and their only child, a son Jody Ned and wife Feleisha of Durant, Okla.; two grandsons: Sedrick Ned and wife Stacia of Enid, Okla., Chayton Ned of Calera, Okla. and one granddaughter Kristen Schol and husband Thomas of Durant, Okla.; and a great-grandson, Sulphur. Little is also survived by his brother, Bobby Ray Ned and wife Norma of Butcher’s Pen, and four sisters: Judy Delisse and husband David of Bonham, Texas, Mary Ned of Wade, Okla., Emily Jan Brooks of Utica, Okla. and Patty Peebles and husband Raul Garcia Bustamante of Yuba, Okla. Also surviving Little are numerous nieces and nephews, and his special niece that he was closest to, Sheila Ned.
Little was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lucille, along with four brothers Elwin “Big” Ned, Ivan Ned, Fred Ned, and Tommy Ned, along with one sister, Sue Metcalf.
Family hour will be held on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 In the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla. from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the Wade Cemetery in Bennington, Okla.
