Edward “Eddie” Downs, left this life on Nov. 8, 2020 at the age of 61. He was born in Durant, Okla., to Charlie and Marion (Traer) Downs on April 6, 1959. 
Eddie worked in the construction business for most of his life. Edward was a collector of many things. He enjoyed collecting old coins, knives, cigarette lighters, if it was old, he collected it! Eddie was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Downs is survived by his cherished children: son, Elliott Earl Downs and wife Rachel of Durant, Okla., and daughter, Brandi Nichol Browning of Durant, Okla.; mother, Marion Downs of Durant, Okla.; brother, Charles Downs of Durant, Okla.; sister, Donna Downs Allen and husband David of Kingston, Okla.; grandchildren: Sky, Calvin, Conor, Apollo, Maddison and Kylie, along with numerous nieces and nephews and a whole host of friends.
Mr. Downs was preceded in death by his father.
Family hour will be 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla. A funeral service will be Thursday, at 2 p.m. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Chapel in Durant with Pastor Jimmy Moore officiating. The service will be available for viewing on our FB page via live stream.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Durant. His pallbearers will be David Allen, David Kemp, Josh Townsend, Russell Hill, Jim Hill, Anthony Downs, Wayne Robertson, and Ellen Noble.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests making donations to Bryan County Genealogy Library and Archive at 203 N. McKinley, Calera, OK 74730.
