Edith Joan (McCreary) Hobbs, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 22, 2024. Edith was born on April 21, 1932, to Ernest and Stella McCreary in Durant, Okla.
She married Thomas Dale Hobbs on May 13, 1950, in Denison, Texas. She earned her master’s degree in education and was a teacher for 19 years in Hobbs, N.M. She attended the Baptist Church, and she enjoyed crocheting. In September 2020, she moved to Bryan County.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Leroy McCreary and Stella Lee (Lollis) McCreary; her husband, Thomas Dale Hobbs, and son, Dale Douglas Hobbs; four brothers and one sister.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Thomas “Greg” Hobbs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
A graveside service is set for 11 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn. Officiating will be Chaplin Jeremy Parham.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Durant.
