Earth Day Durant and Beyond

On Friday, April 22, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., everyone is welcome to attend Earth Day Durant and Beyond at Durant Intermediate School (1314 Waco Street). The event will be outside on the south side of the building. Several programs locally and from around the state will gather to provide a day of sharing and caring about our beautiful planet. There is no cost to attend.

Programs included are as follows: Texoma Audubon Society, Choctaw Nation Recycling, Donald W. Reynolds Library, Bryan County Conservation District, Bryan County Extension Office, Choctaw Nation Backyard Project, Blue Thumb, Yard by Yard Project, Blue Zones Durant, Imagine Durant, Oklahoma Green Schools Program, Project Learning Tree, Girl Scouts of Southeastern Oklahoma, Bob’s Bees, Kidwind, Southeastern Electric Cooperative, Eisenhower State Park, Nan Awaya Farm, and the Durant Green School Program.

Attendees will learn about available community resources, build new knowledge, learn how to take action, and have fun.

This is a zero waste event, meaning that the goal is to avoid creating waste that goes to the landfill.
