Durant year-to-date number of COVID-19 cases passes 200

BRYAN COUNTY – The year-to-date number of positive cases in Bryan County has surpassed 300 with the total in Durant topping 200.

This number is the collective number of all who have been reported to have tested positive for the county so far in 2020 and not to be confused with the number of current active cases.

The number of recoveries listed for Bryan County is past the 200-mark and as of today at 213.

On the Oklahoma State Department of Health website, there has been a discrepancy in the numbers reported for Bryan County according to the ‘View Data by County’ tab and the ‘View Data by City’ tab. The Patriot has been and will be reporting both.

The County Data shows 316 confirmed positive cases with 226 recoveries* and one death attributed to COVID-19, leaving 89 as active cases. Bryan County is listed as having the 18th most cases in 77 counties in the state.

The City Data shows nine cities/towns in the county to be reporting a total of 307 cases with 221 recoveries and one death, which means 85 active cases.

* Recoveries are defined as those currently not hospitalized or deceased and 14 days after onset/report.
