After contacting the Durant Police Department, the Patriot is reposting this article from the Durant P.D. Facebook page regarding Officer Crank.
~
Durant Police Master Patrol Officer Wesley Crank has been diagnosed and hospitalized with Guillain-Barre´ Syndrome. This is a rare but serious autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks healthy nerve cells in your peripheral nervous system (PNS). This leads to weakness, numbness, and tingling, and can eventually cause paralysis.
As with any recovery from a serious medical condition, stress can greatly inhibit this process. Most adults would agree that financial worries are their biggest stressor.
To help offset the cost of the long recovery road ahead of him, an account for Officer Crank has been set up at First United Bank for anyone who chooses to make a donation. The account number at First United Bank is 102228531
