Durant ISD revises plan for start of school, in-person education

DURANT – Durant students will have a couple more days of summer vacation before school starts for the 2020-2021 academic year.

The Durant ISD announced via its Facebook page on Tuesday a revision to the COVID-19 plan.

The start of school has been pushed by to Monday, Aug. 24 for 1st-12th grades and to Wednesday, Aug. 26 for pre-K and kindergarten.

The district will operate in line with the new color-coded risk management tool developed by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, and masks will be required when the code color is any level other than green. For the week of Aug. 6, Bryan County was listed in yellow.
