Doyle Keith Taylor, 82, of Caddo, Okla. passed away on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Achille Cemetery in Oklahoma.
Doyle was born in Achille, Okla. to William and Dollye Taylor. He was the fifth-born of eleven children. He was one of seven boys and had four sisters.
Doyle was a hard-working man that provided not only for his family, but his extended family too. He picked cotton as a boy, drove a semi-truck, and was a Constable in Houston. However, most of his career was spent in the cattle hide business.
He enjoyed many hobbies including playing pool, bowling, playing and coaching softball, painting, playing spades, hearts, dominos, pinochle, and poker. He also loved hand embroidering squares for quilts that he and his wife made in their retirement.
Doyle was known as PaPa by his grandkids and great-grandkids, whom he loving gave nicknames. He loved to give all of the babies their first taste of peppermint and gave them their first shot at picking a $100 bill from his hand.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Celestia of Caddo; his sisters, Peggy Watts and Janet Bean; his daughter, Pam Winters and her husband, Dean of Clallam Bay, Wash.; his daughter, Karen Lake and her husband, Keith of Bowie, Texas; his daughter, Claudia Burkett and her husband, Mark of Canyon, Texas; his son, Don Taylor and his wife, Teressa of Amarillo, Texas; and his daughter Sandra Wesson and her husband, JR of Caddo. He has 12 grandkids, 26 great-grandkids, and his first great-great-grandkid on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, all six brothers: Donald, Benny, Tubby, Dale, Larry Gene, and Ray, and two sisters: Dollye (Sister) and Jo.
