Dovie Wigley

Dovie Viola (Haislip) Wigley departed this earthly life on March 18, 2021 at the age of 81 at her residence in Bennington, Okla. Dovie was born on April 29, 1939 in Idabel, Okla., to Archie Chester and Catherine (Graham) Haislip.

Dovie loved her family and was the happiest when they would come and visit, so they could all be together. She loved trains, yard sales, museums, the history of the San Jancito Valley and strawberry ice cream. She loved her job and her customers loved her! She worked as a retail clerk for many years before her retirement. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her only son, Keith Wigley and wife Susan of San Jacinto, Calif.; granddaughter, Tanaya Wellmerling and husband Craig of Bennington, Okla. and two great-granddaughters: Leah Gadsby who is stationed in South Korea and Alexis Wellmerling, and one great-grandson Ethan Wellmerling. Dovie is survived by her sister Devon Harvill and husband John of Rowlett, Texas, and two brothers John Ray Haislip and wife Vivian of Bennington, Okla. and James Haislip of Mead, Okla. Dovie is also survived by her sister-in-law and care giver extraordinaire Martha Haislip, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dovie was preceded in death by her parents Archie and Catherine; only daughter, Kay Villareal; sisters, Janet Allen Knight, Levon Martin, and Barbara Robbins; brothers, Dale Haislip, Stoneman Haislip, Gerry Haislip, Jerry Haislip and William Chester Haislip.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at the Family Worship Center in Bokchito, Okla. with Bro. Phillip Rowland officiating.
