Douglas Kelso

Douglas “Doug” Wayne Kelso, 74 of Boswell, Okla., went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2023 in Oklahoma City surrounded by loved ones. He was born to the late George F. and Lorean Mae (Pitts) Kelso in Hugo, Okla. on December 15, 1948.

Doug accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior along side his wife Donna in Boswell, Okla.

He graduated high school in Coalinga, Calif. He served proudly in the United States Navy from 1967-1971. He spent many years hauling freight all across the country as a truck driver, working alongside his brother Donny and numerous friends and co-workers over the years. Additionally, he worked with family and friends at the families sewing factory in Boswell, Okla.

He was a very generous man and would give to help others even if it meant he would do without. He loved to tell jokes and never met a person he couldn’t make laugh. From an early age he loved to go camping, hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends of which he had many. He was blessed with a large and loving family.

He leaves behind his two daughters: Teresa Shults and husband Bobby of Durant, Okla., Christi Busby of Boswell, Okla.; brothers: Donny Kelso and wife Linda of Boswell, Okla., Jack Tanksley of Edmond, Okla.; grandchildren: Emily, Kolby, Brett, Brenton, Dusty, Mattie, Daxter; great-grandchildren: Rylington, Ryklin, Graysen, Brantley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna Kelso, as well as numerous family members and special friends.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Gordon Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
