Dottie Caldwell of Durant, Okla., passed from this life on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the age of 80. She was born on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 1939 in Wise County, Virginia to Opal (Adkins) Tunnell.
She was raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. She came to Durant, Okla. from Ft. Worth, Texas in 2009. She had lived in El Paso, Texas for 20 years prior. She had a passion for CPR and was very committed to teaching others this life saving technique.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Durant and was active in her Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by a daughter, Terri Weir and husband Skip of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother, Rick Tunnell of Detroit, Mich.; sisters: Kitty Seymour of San Diego, Calif., Carolyn Weeks of San Antonio, Texas, Deb Lijewski of Detroit, Mich.; granddaughters: Carissa Winstead and husband Jacob of Durant, Okla.; Taylor Weir of Jersey City, N.J. as well as four great-grandchildren.
There was a Memorial Reception at the First Baptist Church in Durant, on Sunday, March 15.
