Dorothy “Doti” Jean Barton, 69, entered Heaven’s Gates on December 9, 2021. Born in Huntington Park, Calif.on May 18, 1952, she was the fifth daughter to Andrew and Isabel Muterspaw.
She graduated from La Habra Highschool in 1970 and later became an LPN. Though she always missed the ocean, Doti made her way to Oklahoma to be closer to family. She married the love of her life, Christopher “Chris” M. Barton on March 31, 1989, in Oklahoma City and enjoyed a long nursing career in the area.
Inheriting a seamstress spark, Doti always found time to make things for friends and family. She was never too busy to share her time and attention. After retiring, the couple became full-timers at their Kingston lake house. Doti loved the sunsets there, and her gracious nature made everyone feel welcome. Her radiant smile and sparkling blue eyes will always be remembered.
In addition to her parents, Doti is preceded in death by her oldest sister, Eva Steinbroner.
Doti will live on in the hearts of her husband, Chris Barton; daughter, Rachellee Walker and husband Allen; son, Eric Shipman and wife Andrea; stepson, Christopher “Mark” Barton and wife Angie; stepson, Billy Barton; and stepdaughter, Angel and husband Carlos Garcia. Her memory will be cherished by sisters, Virginia Hanson, Clara Shipman, and Sandra Brown along with her 10 treasured grandchildren.
A celebration of Doti’s beautiful life is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, Okla.
