Doris attended Catholic School in Prior, Okla. She married the love of her life, Roy Lee Walker on Oct. 23, 1954. After living in Atoka County for some time, they relocated to Durant in 1960. Doris and Roy spent 33 wonderful years together until his passing on April 6, 1987. She worked as a waitress for most of her life and loved playing bingo and watching westerns.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Roy Lee Walker; son, Tiny (Rusty) Walker; parents, George and Sinda White; brothers, Johnny White, Doyle White, and James White; sisters, Christine Jorgensen, Beatrice Hill and Charlene Mauldin.
Loved ones left to cherish Doris’s memory include her five daughters, Kathy Kelley and husband, Charles of Durant, Okla.; Carolyn Waller of Durant, Okla.; Patsy Airington and husband James of Durant, Okla.; Doris Clements and husband, May of Durant, Okla. and Frankie Pennington; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren along with other extended family members and dear friends.
Services were held Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with Will Airington officiating. Interment is in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong and Heath Kelley, Coby Kelley, Brian Gray, Bobby Airington, Dean Pennington, Chris Jefferson and John Webb served as pallbearers.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
