Dolores Clotine Sorrell, 90, of Colbert, Okla., passed away, at her residence, with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Dolores was born on August 19, 1931 in Bryan County, Okla., to Jerry Nunley and Mae (Weger) Nunley.
She was a high school graduate. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Sorrell and to this union two sons were born, Kenneth Jr. and David. She formerly was employed by Texas Instruments in electronics. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Dolores was a lifelong and faithful member of the Coleman Avenue Church of Christ. She was married to her husband and soulmate, Kenneth, for 72 years. Dolores loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to be outside, gardening, camping, fishing and traveling. The community knew her as a soft spoken, gentle and kind lady.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth Sorrell of their home; her sons, Kenneth Sorrell, Jr. of Colbert, OK, David Sorrell and Regina of Colbert, Okla.; grandchildren, Justin and Dana Sorrell of Durant, Okla., Jason Sorrell of Colbert, Okla., Jared Sorrell of Crystal River, Fla., Jeffrey Sorrell of Crystal River, Fla., Ryan and Shana Sorrell of Mustang, Okla., Michelle and Bart Harper of Madill, Okla.; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; other extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by parents, Jerry and Mae Nunley; five brothers: Clint Nunley, Snook Nunley, Sam Nunley, Ray Nunley, Curtis Nunley and two sisters, Juanita Rice and Wanda Henderson.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Coleman Avenue Church of Christ, Colbert, Okla. with Brother Richard Gage officiating. Interment will be at Garden of Memory Cemetery, Colbert, Okla. Family and friends visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Teman Bowles, Norman Briggs, Fred Jackson, Mike Washer, Phillip Weger and Sammy Weger. Honorary Pallbearers are Steve Weger and Wayne Weger.
Lunch and visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. at Coleman Avenue Church of Christ.
