DeMario O’Keith (Sparky) Gray, Jr. 20, of Atoka, Okla. passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 of injuries due to a motor vehicle accident in Atoka County. He was born Dec. 10, 1998 in Ada, Okla.
He attended and was a graduate from Durant schools where he was very active in football, wrestling and weight lifting teams with placing in the state in power lifting. He worked at Hardy Farms where his goal was to become a truck driver for Hardy Farms.
DeMario was full of life and adventure. There was never a dull moment when he was around cracking jokes. He had a huge heart of gold and smile that could light any room up. DeMario always gave 110 percent in everything he attempted and was never a quitter. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, family, hunting and playing video games.
He was preceded in death by his father, DeMario O’Keith Gray, Sr.; grandmother, Margaret Gray and Aunt Amber Williamson.
He is survived by his mother, Christie (Williamson) Gray of Armstrong, Okla.; great-grandmother, Lennie Anderson of Detroit, Mich.; grandparents, Steve and Pam Williamson of Armstrong, Okla. and Debbie Johnson of Ferndale, Mich.; siblings: April Clay of Brownstown, Mich., Madison Williamson Gray of Durant, Okla.; twin brother, DeMarco Gray and girlfriend Robin Farrell and Makayla Gray all of Armstrong, Okla.; niece, Ah’Mya Scott of Brownstown, Mich.; nephews, Zayne Gray of Armstrong, Okla. and Aiden Seldon of Brownstown, Mich.; aunts, Rhonda (Cookie) Gray and Maria Timberlake, both of Michigan and Stephenia Harper and husband Shane of Durant, Okla.; uncles, DeAngelo Gray of Michigan, Steven Kaleb (Shorty) Williamson of Atoka, Okla., Micaah Williamson of Armstrong, Okla. and Mickie Johnson of Michigan; and Special Friends: Jason Prater, Tyler Olive, Moma and Pops Olive and Robert (Red) Eakin along with a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends.
A Celebration of the Life of DeMario O’Keith (Sparky) Gray, Jr. will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 at the Armstrong Baptist Church with Reverend Monty Wood officiating. Family night will be held Friday, Dec. 13 from 6-8 p.m. at the Armstrong Baptist Church.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Steven Kaleb (Shorty) Williamson, Tyler, Taylor and Thomas Olive, DeMarco Gray, Austin McBride, Frankie Morgan, Tommy Balentine, Sr. and Cameron Steadman. The family would like to thank everyone for the support shown during this time of loss.
