Delbert Lee Birdsong, Jr., of Caddo, Okla., passed from this life on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the age of 76. He was born on Monday, April 13, 1942 in Caddo, Okla., to Delbert Lee and Margaret Alice (Hill) Birdsong.
Delbert was a graduate of Caddo Public School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Masters degree. He had a career as a teacher and principal and rancher. He attended the Caddo Church of the Nazarene.
He married Yvonne Gordon in Madill, Okla., on May 26, 1962.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Delbert Lee and Margaret Alice (Hill) Birdsong, brother Jerry Dan Birdsong, sister Shirley Miller, infant daughter Mary Alice Birdsong and an infant child.
Survivors include his wife Yvonne Birdsong of the home; daughters: Darla Phipps and husband Joe of Caddo, Okla., Danna Pierce of Caddo; son, Devin Birdsong and wife Kristi of Bokchito, Okla.; brothers: Gary Birdsong and wife Sue of Kenefic, Okla., Mike Birdsong and wife Marilyn of Caddo, Frank Birdsong and wife Linda of Bokchito, Okla.; grandchildren: Zachary Phipps and wife Ashleigh of Tecumseh, Okla., Morgan Lowry and husband Cory, Spencer Phipps and wife Skye of Caddo, Derek Birdsong and wife Allison of Bokchito, Dakota Robinson of Bokchito, Hunter McAtee and husband Craig of Durant, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Paityn Lowry, Parker Lowry, Phallyn Lowry, Isaac Phipps, Foster Phipps, Palmer Phipps, Dawson Birdsong and Reno McAtee.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
