Debra Green

Debra Green was born on Sept 3, 1958, to Alvie and Shirley Thornton in Okla City, Okla. Debra graduated Jay High School in 1976. Debra loved with all her heart her family and especially her 12 grandbabies.

Debra will be missed so much. She was active in her church at Armstrong Baptist Church and she helped take care of both of her parents and she loved going to the Senior Center everyday for lunch and visiting with everyone. She was a mom to all the kids that came to her home. When a teenager or kid needed help she was there to take them in, feed them or just be a mom. She helped anybody that needed help. She loved the Lord and knew Him as her personal Savior. She prayed diligently for her family.

Debra is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents, Alvie and Shirley Thornton; as well as several cousins, aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her children, Gidgit Graham and husband Ernie from San Antonio, Texas; Kristina Nottingham and husband Chris from Tahlequah, Okla.; Styrlin Scogin and wife Cynthia from Inola, Okla., and Mary Scogin from Portland, Ore.; sister, LaDonna Swartz and husband William from Durant, Okla., and brother, Don Thornton and wife Susan from Marshall, Texas. Debra had 12 grandchildren: Tanner, Rebecca, Abigail, Elizabeth, Johnathan, Isabelle, Jaydon, Nikirhe, Kendell, Jordan, Angel, Sydney, and bonus daughter Sindi Fisher and bonus grandkids: Dominic, Trinity, and MaKaylah Grace; as well as nieces, Brookelynn and Jessica, and nephews, Tyne and Brian.

Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Armstrong Baptist Church in Armstrong, Okla., with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, Okla.

The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant. Officiating is Pastor Monty Wood, with pallbearers: Styrlin Scogin, Ernie Graham, Chris Nottingham, Bill Swartz, Johnathan Scogin, and Don Thornton. Honorary pallbearers: Tanner Allen, Jaydon Scogin, Kendell Mayfield, and Jordan Holcomb.

Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant.
