Deborah Portman

Deborah “Nana” June Portman, of Durant, Okla., passed away from this earthly life on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020 at the age of 66. She was born in Cobb, Okla. on Feb. 4, 1954. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was Nana to all who knew and loved her.

Debbie cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her great-grandkids, whom she called her “little buddies.” She loved caring for her family. She considered them all her greatest blessing. She enjoyed reading mystery novels, watching True Crime shows, playing Candy Crush, and telling everyone stories of her life. She was a big fan of Elvis Presley. Last year, she was excited to make her first and only trip to Graceland to visit Elvis’ home with her daughter Laci and son-in-law Scott. She enjoyed evenings spent with her son Donnie and daughter-in-law Autumn.

Debbie did not belong to a church, but she did have her own personal relationship with God. She was a Baptist and often prayed for her family.

She cherished every moment she spent with family and friends. She worked at Texas Instruments for almost 20 years and made a lot of lifelong friends along the way. She was a 5-year Breast Cancer survivor! She cherished every day granted to her.

Ms. Portman was preceded in death by parents, Troy and Ruth Bryant; brothers, Terry Bryant, Truman Bryant, and Ricky Bryant; as well as ex-husband Ronald Portman.

Ms. Portman is survived by her children: Ronnie “Budd” Portman, JR and wife Angela of Madill, Okla., Donnie Portman and wife Autumn of Durant, Okla., Laci Hooper and husband Scott of Durant, Okla.; grandchildren: Megan Richardson and husband KC of Durant, Okla., Andrew Hill of Sherman, Texas, Tiffany Portman and fiancé Derek of Durant, Okla., Nikki Smith of Durant, Okla., Austin Hill and wife Brittany of Durant, Okla. Trevor McKinney and girlfriend Malorie of Durant, Okla. and Preston Portman of Durant, Okla,; beloved great-grandchildren: Xander, Amara, Gabriel, and Noah; brothers: Jerry Bryant and wife Cheryl of Abilene, Texas, Roy Bryant and wife Delis of Durant, Okla., and Tony Bryant and wife Melody of Sherman, Texas, and special friends Paul Montgomery and Karen Elmore as well as many more close friends she has made throughout her life.

There are no services definitively scheduled at this time. A celebration of life is pending for Sunday, Nov. 15.
