Dawn Lauridsen

Dawn Michelle (Thornton) Lauridsen entered into this life on March 17, 1972 in Denison, Texas to her parents Jerry Hagood and Sue (McEntire) Barthel.  Dawn grew up in Bells, Texas and graduated high school from Colbert, Oklahoma Class of 1990. Dawn married Evan Lauridsen on August 26, 2000 and together they loved two daughters, Kayla Jackson and Paige (Jackson) Haggard. Dawn gained her angel wings surrounded by family on March 10, 2025 in McKinney, Texas.  Dawn enjoyed spending time with family, doing arts and crafts or coming up with some unique recipes.  Dawn’s selfless act of kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Dawn was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Leonard “Mac” and Freda McEntire of Bells, Texas, and her paternal grandparents, Gene and Dolly Hagood of Denison, Texas. Also preceded in death by her dads, Jerry Hagood and Arlie Barthel.

She is survived by her loving-husband, Evan Lauridsen of Denison, Texas; daughters  Kayla Jackson of Denison, Texas, and Paige (Jackson)  and spouse Shelby Haggard and their three children Karson, Wyatt and Kennedy of Colbert, Okla.; niece/bonus daughter, Brittani “Bri” (Minor)  and spouse Jedidiah “Jed” Lesley and their three children Landon, Kendrick and Braxtyn of Colbert, Okla.; mother, Sue (McEntire) Barthel of Denison, Texas; sisters, Carla (Barnes) Minor and fiancé Mike Railey of Whitewright, Texas; Tina Hagood of Sherman, Texas; Stephanie (Hagood) Gill of Pottsboro, Texas; Arlinia “Kaye” (Barthel) and spouse Mike Eddings of Mannsville, Oklahoma; Yolanda (Barthel) and spouse Mike Smith of Lone Grove, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Shelby Haggard, Jedidiah “Jed” Lesley, Jordon Robertson, Mike Eddings, Dalton Eddings, and Billy Horn. Honorary pallbearers will be Karson Haggard, Wyatt Haggard, Landon Lesley, Kendrick Lesley, and Braxtyn Lesley.

A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. on March 22, 2025, with Bishop Matt Jackman officiating at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sherman, Texas. A public viewing will be held before the service at the church in the relief society room at 10:00 am. Family night will be on March 21, 2025 from 6:00-7:00 pm at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma for close family and friends. Dawn’s final resting place will be at Yarnaby Cemetery in Yarnaby, Oklahoma. Following the services, there will be a friends and family cook-out at her house in Denison, Texas.
