David Mcalpin Thirey was born on July 12, 1959, in Detroit, Mich., to Dallas and Dorothy (Mcalpin) Thirey. He passed away on March 13, 2024.
David grew up in Michigan. He worked as a land surveyor. On August 24, 2013, he married Carolyn Sue Walton in Hersey, Mich. In 2021, he and Carolyn moved to Durant. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and reading books, fishing and model cars.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Thirey and stepson, Kenny Clark.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Thirey of the home; his father, Dallas Thirey of Arizona; his stepdaughter, Kim Woolard and husband Ray of Durant, Okla.; stepson, Corey Clark and wife Rachel of Cabot, Ark.; stepdaughter, Terry Henderson of Lampasas, Texas; two special friends: Donnie Thornhill and Randy Randolf. He also leaves behind 24 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
The family will host a celebration of Davids life in Michigan at a later date.
Cremation services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Durant.
