Daniel Owen Trantham was born July 6, 1932 in Hugo, Okla., to Carl P. Trantham and Rose Ella (Gray) Trantham. He passed from this life on Monday, April 25, 2022 from his home at the age of 89.

Dan married his sweetheart, Wanda Harris, on February 10, 1952 in Nogales, Ariz. They lived in Stanfield, Ariz., for many years where he worked at Stanfield Elementary from 1965 until his retirement in 1992. He was a mechanic and took care of the school’s vehicles. At a young age, he participated at rodeos as a bull rider and riding his horse. He loved animals and taught his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to drive a tractor and bottle feed calves. Dan loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Beverly in 1978; brothers, James, Floyd and J.W.; sisters, Dorothy, Esther, Hazel and Betty; and nephew, Wayne Trantham.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda, of the home; son, Lynn Trantham of Hominy, Okla.; daughter, Brenda Kammann and her husband, Fred, of Arizona City, Ariz.; daughter, Sandra Morrow of Arizona City, Ariz.; daughter, Sheila Garland and her husband, Richard, of Casa Grande, Ariz.; Mike Trantham of Kenefic, Okla.; and daughter, Suzie Holmes and her husband, Mitch, of Casa Grande, Ariz.; a brother, Willie Joe Trantham and his wife, Joyce, of Stanfield, Ariz.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
