LAKE TEXOMA – A Dallas man drowned in Lake Texoma on Friday afternoon.
Plinio Vargas, 57, was floating on an air mattress in the Willow Springs area of Lake Texoma at about 3:41 p.m., according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol
He began to drift north away from the shoreline due to the wind. Vargas then began to swim, went under water and never resurfaced. The body was recovered in 7 feet of water, 175 feet northwest from the shoreline.
He was not wearing a personal flotation device.
The OHP was assisted by West Bryan County Fire Department, Colbert Fire Department and Bryan County EMS.
