Cris Attaway, a resident of Durant, Okla., beloved son, brother, family member, and cherished friend, left this life too soon on March 21, 2019 at the age of 37. He was born on Nov. 4, 1981 in Mount Pleasant, Texas to Timothy Attaway and Terri Martin.
Cris was baptized at the St. Andrew United Methodist Church and was a member of the Durant Elks Lodge 1963. He enjoyed all competitive sports and collecting matching caps, shirts and shoes. Cris enjoyed making memories with his cherished friends and brother, while sharing his love for music and movies. He had a tender heart and loved his special four-legged buddies Nate and Dolly.
Cris is survived by his parents, Tim Attaway and Terri Martin of Durant, Okla.; brother, Andy Attaway of Durant, Okla.: grandparents, Glenn and Nell Martin of Spur, Texas and Esther and Don Womack of Granbury, Texas; aunt, Joyce Attaway of Durant, Okla.: aunts and uncles, Judi and Tom Dean of Seattle, Wash., Joyce and John Allen of Port Angeles, Wash., and Pam and Billy Morris of Flomot, Texas; numerous cousins, Amy, John Ryan, Michael, Jennifer, Greg, Dodie, Becca, and Rhonda, along with many wonderful friends.
Cris was preceded in death by his grandmother, Louise Attaway, and uncles, Tommy Attaway and Rick Edwards.
Family hour will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A service in his honor will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Bro. Jacob Toews officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Durant with Jeff Raulston, Colton Westbrook, Gary James, Justin Lee, Jason Lee and Connor Ragsdale as pallbearers. His honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Bertrand, Verne DeVore, Jimmy Phillips and Randy Gentry.
Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant.
