Craig Helling

Craig Helling died on Oct. 9, 2021, at his home with his wife, nephew, and stepsons, at the age of 41. Craig married Frances Lorie in Durant, Okla. on February 14, 2014.

Craig Helling was born in Houston, Texas, to his adoptive parents Curt and Donna Helling. The story of his life grows from there. He had a loving and protective childhood. He had a true passion for sports that started with soccer at an early age. Even though his blood was burnt orange, at any given moment the TV was tuned in to ESPN.

He had an undying love for his family, and nothing came before those he loved. Donna was taken away too soon. Craig went through some tough trials, but overcame them. He was a loving, giving, cheerful person to everyone. He lived his life to its fullest and taught many people how to smile along the way. He earned and gained trust through his wisdom and heart. He will be missed by many and continue to train us through our memories and his guidance.

In addition to his loved ones, he will truly be missed by his extended work family at Alorica. He made lasting memories with all.

Mr. Helling is survived by his cherished wife, Lorie, of the home; brother, Eric Helling of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Hope Donna Vardiver of Austin, Texas; step-son, Dylan Stout of Durant, Okla.; grandmother, Nina Lambert of Nashville, Tenn.; aunt, Diana Rush of Nashville, Tenn.; uncle, Mike Rush of Nashville, Tenn.; cousins, Nathan and Brian Rush of Nashville, Tenn.; father, Curt Helling of Atlanta, Ga.; step-daughters, Danielle Gentry of Hot Springs, Ark. and Delaney Dophied of Ft. Worth, Texas, and also survived by Derek Dophied of Durant, Okla.

Mr. Helling was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Lambert and his grandfather, Don Lambert.

Family hour will be from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Okla.

A memorial service in his honor will begin at 3 p.m. with Rev. James Robinson officiating.

Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
