RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s volleyball awards for second week of the 2019 season. Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Jennifer Eubanks garnered the Offensive Player honor; Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Caitlin Cosby claimed the Defensive Player accolade and Southern Nazarene’s Kylie Smith earned the Setter award.
GAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jennifer Eubanks, Northwestern Oklahoma State, MH, Sr., Copperas Cove, Texas
Eubanks led the Rangers to four wins in five games after she posted a GAC-leading .388 attack percentage. She tallied 61 kills, highlighted by 16 against Western Colorado. She produced an attack percentage of least .300 in all five contests. Defensively, she added a league-leading 1.33 blocks per set. She averaged 3.90 points per set for the week.
GAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Caitlin Cosby, Southeastern Oklahoma State, L, Sr., Keller, Texas
Cosby joined exclusive company, as she became just the third player in GAC history to reach the 2,000-dig milestone, alongside Southern Nazarene’s Abbey Bell and Arkansas Tech’s Madison Nagel. At the Southeastern Classic, she totaled 69 digs and averaged 5.31 per set. She registered 18 in a three-set win against Cameron and 28 against Union.
GAC SETTER OF THE WEEK – Kylie Smith, Southern Nazarene, Sr., Deer Park, Texas
Smith repeated as the GAC Setter of the Week after she averaged a GAC-leading 11.43 assists per set. Against UT-Tyler, she tallied 33 assists and followed up with a double-double of 44 assists and 14 digs against Central Oklahoma State. On Saturday, she notched 39 assists in a sweep against Union and 44 in a four-set win against Colorado State-Pueblo.
