Coker named SE Professor of the Year; complete list of Faculty Senate Awards released

DURANT – The Faculty Senate at Southeastern Oklahoma State University recently announced its award recipients for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Among those recognized this year was Riley Risso Coker, associate professor of theatre, who was named the Professor of the Year.

“It was incredible,” Coker said. “It was a complete surprise. But what a fantastic way to be recognized from a college home that has really allowed me to be an artist and made me feel free to create and to do whatever I wanted to do.”

Coker is also the Producing Director of the Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival and coordinator of dance for theatre at Southeastern, as well as the director of the Sparks Dance Team.

Also headlining the list were Dr.  Bryon Clark, retired interim president, who was given the Lifetime Achievement Award and Alisha Ridenour, named the Adjunct Professor of the Year.

Awards were also presented for teaching, service, and scholarship in the School of Arts & Sciences (A&S), School of Education & Behavioral Sciences (EBS), and John Massey School of Business. (JMSB).
