Clifford Dean Carter, 68, of Durant, Okla., passed away on April 3, 2020 at the hospital in Durant. He was born on July 31, 1951 in Clinton, Okla. to the late Martin Carter and Eula Fay Spiva.
Cliff was raised in Elk City, Okla. and graduated from Elk City High School in 1970. In 1970, he went to work in the Oil Field Industry where he worked until he retired in 2014. Cliff married Susan Esther Langford on July 26, 1980 in Mesquite, Texas.
Cliff lived in Lafayette, Louisiana for 25 years before moving to Oklahoma City in 2012. He has lived in Durant for the past 3 ½ years and was a member of the Baptist Faith. Cliff enjoyed watching Old Westerns, gambling, but most of all he loved being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Carter of Durant, Okla.; son, Jerry Carter and wife Chelline of Lafayette, La.; three grandchildren: Daniel Carter and wife Coree of Natchitoches, La., Nichole Carter and Daryl Simon of Jeanerette, La., Christopher Carter and Hannah Bieber of Lafayette, Louisiana; six great-grandchildren: Cody Brenke, Aiden Bieber, Damien Carter, Charlotte Simon, Cameron Simon, Leanna Carter; brother, Roy Carter and wife Linda of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters: Charlotte Hammonds and husband Dennis of Kingman, Ariz., Glenda Trissell, of Amarillo, Texas; and numerous other family members.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Fay Solomon and Martin Carter; grandson, Matthew Carter and great-grandson, Cade Brenke.
