Clarola Jean “CJ” Rose, 70, departed this life and entered into her Eternal home on Friday, September 8, 2023. CJ was born Tuesday, May 12, 1953 in Fort Collins, Colo., to Jack and Carol (Weers) Wallace.

CJ, as she was known by everyone who knew her, is a graduate of Sherman High School. She furthered her education and attended Grayson County College and later SOSU. CJ came to Durant in 1979 and married her soulmate, Chris Rose, on August 20, 1983 in Durant. CJ worked passionately as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 50 years. She worked in Grayson County at various health agencies and many years at the old Bryan Memorial Hospital ER, retiring in the Surgery department.

CJ enjoyed being outdoors tending to her garden, reading all kinds of books, fishing, and most of all being a Mom, and ‘Neena’ to the grandkids. CJ was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

CJ was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Chris on October 29, 2022.

She is survived by her daughters, Amy Goggans and her husband, David, of Mead, and Cathy Boone and her husband, Justin, of Durant; a son, Thomas “TJ” Rose and his wife, Shana, of Caddo; sister, Cindy Atkins and her husband, David, of Sherman, Texas; brother-in-law, Bobby Carl Rose and his wife, Becky, of Hankamer, Texas; sister-in-law, Brenda Elliott and her husband, Mac, of Crosby, Texas; aunts, Betty Eggleston of Rowlett, Texas, and Nadine Hisam of Ft. Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Nicki Henry and her son Blaine, Derrick Boone and his wife Nicole and their daughter Hadlee Marie, Ashly Dowd and her husband Kyle and their son Gunner and daughter Ava, Calee Russell and husband Levi, and Talon Rose; and other extended family members and church family.

A Celebration of Life service for “CJ” will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Jerry Peterson officiating.

Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral and Cremation Services.
