Clark “Tony” Stephens, of Bokchito, Okla. passed from this life on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 at the age of 71. He was born on Saturday, April 22, 1950 in Comanche, Okla. to James Allen and Marlene (Rea) Stephens.
He married Judy Ann Nix on May 14, 1970 in Durant, Okla.
He was a longtime resident of Bryan County, Okla. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sitting on the porch watching the birds. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids. He graduated from Velma High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a BA in Safety. He managed Gibson’s and Bestyet, then retired from Big Lots Distribution Center.
He wrote his own epitaph: “He did it to himself, but Hell, 71 years ain’t a bad run. He loved is wife since the day he laid eyes on her.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Allen and Marlene (Rea) Stephens and a sister Donna Adkison.
Survivors include his wife Judy of the home; daughter, Christine Forrest and husband Jodee of Bokchito, Okla.; son, Joseph Stephens and wife Jennifer of Midlothian, Va.; adopted son, Jeffery Forrest of Bokchito, Okla.; granddaughters: Chelsea Luton and husband Garrett of Bokchito, Okla., Hanna McMurtrey of Bokchito, Okla., Isabella Wolfenbarger and husband Brandon of Durant, Okla.; grandsons: Cody Forrest and wife Kristen of Caddo, Okla., Donavan Clevenger of Sherman, Texas, Reece Stephens of Midlothian, Va., Ethan Stephens of Soper, Okla., Jonah Stephens of Midlothian, Va.; great-grandchildren: Kyree Luton, Ronin Luton, Addy Luton and Oliver Forrest as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
A family visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
