Clarence “Corkey” Lawrence passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2020 in Durant, Okla. at the age of 90. Corkey was born on April 1, 1930 in Riverside, Calif. He was the husband of the late Wynona Lawrence, to whom he was married 53 years before her passing in 2017.

Corkey was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was extremely honored that he was able to serve as a Military Police and Firefighter during his years of service. Clarence loved his wife, Wynona, and they enjoyed many things together like going to the Choctaw Snap Center and spending time with their friends there and watching wrestling anytime it was on the TV.

Corkey was a character that loved to give everyone a hard time. He enjoyed walking and listening to music. Some of his favorite artists were Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Loretta Lynn.

Clarence is survived by his daughter, Betty Norton and husband Scott Hale; grandchildren: Lisa Norton and husband Nolan Hobbs III, Reitha Hale, Bobby Norton, Quida Norton, and Alex Norton; great-grandchildren: Christopher Behrens, David Behrens, Joshua Behrens and Emily Behrens.

Mr. Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Wynona Lawrence; sons: Kenneth and Bobby Norton; infant great-grandson.
